Check the on-save notification
If a replay saved successfully you normally see a notification (when enabled) and a new entry at the top of your replay history. If neither appeared, the save likely did not complete.
Reasons a video may not save
- Screen capture was paused or restricted. If a protected window (a full-screen game or app rendering through a special pipeline, for example) is in front, capture may pause until the window is no longer focused, or the saved file may be black or empty. Unfocus the window or run Replayable with elevated permissions.
- Mouse selection mode was active. If a capture region/highlight is active or the capture is waiting for a selection, abort it and try again.
- Insufficient disk space — a video replay needs enough free space in the replay folder to be encoded. See storage full.
- The buffer had no footage. Replayable only started capturing your screen at launch. If the app has just started, there is no prior footage yet.
- The configured duration exceeds the buffer. Replaying the maximum duration requires the app to have been capturing for at least that long beforehand.
- An encode error occurred. If encoding fails the replay is not written. Check the logs at %APPDATA%\Replayable\logs.
Where do saved videos go?
Saved MP4 files are written to the video subfolder of your replay folder (default: Documents\Replayable\replays\video), and appear in the app's replay history. See storage locations.
